It is difficult to say goodbye
We will miss your daily homily
Through which the right messages
You did so gently seek to convey
We will miss your kind heart and
The peaceful smile that you always wore
The attentiveness with which you listened
And advised us when we were in trouble
We will miss the blessings and prayers
That you showered on us so unstintingly
Even as you did suffer illness and pain
It is now the Lord’s turn to look after you
Just the way you did look after all of us
Your ever increasing and demanding flock
