You went to sleep before i could reach you
You went into a deep, lonely sleep
Your eyes open, viewing the world for what it is
Close your eyes and go to sleep
It's time to say goodbye
It's time to say good night
I wish I was here in time
To say a proper goodbye
And to hold your hand, kiss your cheek
So that I could close your eyes
Now I close your eyes
And pray that you rest in peace
I love you
And I will miss you dearly
Miss those shaking hands as your arms would wrap around me
Miss that teasing smile when we joked around
Miss that 'Hello, dear' when i came to visit
Miss that gentle look when you saw me
Miss the wrinkles, the smiles, and the warmth of you
I will miss all of you for the rest of my time
One day we will meet again
When it's my turn to say good night to the world
Rest in peace and know
That we will all miss you
