leave me out
leave me for me
days of torment behind
my back scrubbed
with sandpaper as hard
like a herbalist's pot
sooty and smelly

days of regret bid
goodbye better bid
shinny and supple
my back
as a baby's palm
heralding the era
of the separation
from emotional vandalism
