Good News Poem by Clarisse Sobiono

Good News

I could use a good news.
Not necessarily about me.
Just something that will take me away
From what I'm starting to believe now.

I could use a good news.
About your parents or your siblings.
And that you actually love them
And maybe feel that I actually care.

I could use a good news.
Not formal words of rejections from jobs I've applied to.
Not polite words of not being wanted by people I like.
Not another sign that you're just using me.

I could use a good news.
More than masks I saw from your photos.
More than words you've stolen from songs.
More than your presence, your cold presence.

And yes, I could use a good news.
