Good Morning Lord Poem by Juan Olivarez

Good Morning Lord

Good morning Lord, yes sir, it's me,
I just wanted to say hi.
And to say thank-you, for letting me see,
My baby grandson's newborn cries.

I guess you really can't see cries,
But boy I heard them, yes sirree.
He can't hit the low notes, But oh those highs,
And he's so beautiful, you see.

His first name is Mateo, That's Matthew you know,
Like the man that told us all about you.
And to you we pray he's healthy as he grows,
Cause thats what grandparents have to do.

His middle name is Gabriel,
Yes like your Angel with the horn.
And deep inside somehow I feel,
You've blessed the day, that he was born.

So thank-you Lord, once again,
For allowing me to see this day.
And giving me joy as life slowly wanes,
Take care of Mateo, in your own special way.
