Good Lord - Save Me From Such Doctors.....

Good Lord....................

Good Lord deliver us from such doctors
Who first feel the pulse of our purse
Then the racy heart beats quite after
Lest we later pay inflated bills with and added curse

And all those tests that we do undergo
Because some scanning centre is in tow
To commission him with cash and gifts galore
Such evil tales are now common lore

And it never ends there as well
The pharma co’s have targets to meet
So medical reps and doctors have to jell
And helpless patients become easy meat

And so kidneys go missing at times
Surgical items found in intestines
Wrong prescriptions leave some mortified
And when every thing fails the govt gen hospital is fine

The trust is gone as you can now see
The cure sometimes worse than the disease
“surgery successful”, but the patient’s soul is free
And the body carried home iced properly.

(There are always exceptions to this)

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
With hospitals/medical field getting into the corporate mode patients are increasingly facing the music. This said, there still are many doctors who work treating patients as they would their own relatives. But the percentage is falling by the day as many are being caught up in the get rich quick culture.

You are 99% right! One is to get quick money, the next is poor education in private medical colleges. I happened to see a doctor while I was in charge of a hospital for sometime. A surgeon wrote CT scan for a patient with headache, without a preliminary exam and diagnosis. He adamantly said this was his teaching!
