God, The Potter And Man, His Pot. Poem by Dr John Celes

God, The Potter And Man, His Pot.

Who dare query the Maker God and Lord?
No slave equals the Master any day;
And yet, with fairness, love, God made the world;
To man o'er creatures next, God gave the say!

The Maker made all things so perfectly;
He made the Universe just by his Words;
He loved all creatures from His heart clearly;
With man alone, He struck many accords.

He gave the human form, His own image;
He gave a priceless soul to man alone;
Our wars against the Tempter, He will wage;
He made each one uniquely, not as clone!

Dissatisfied yet, man queries the Lord;
Has not the potter freedom over clay?
The God of wisdom does not say a word;
Of all the creatures, man, He made best way.

The Master craftsman has His own sweet will;
The clay He formed as man was dignified;
In each vessel to brim, He gives a fill;
With some, the Maker is so stupefied!

The Potter makes each pot with love and care;
He loves each piece equally well by heart;
He spends His time in planning our welfare;
Should any man find fault then with His art?
