God Remembers Prayer Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God Remembers Prayer

“Now how are you today my friend?
I heard you took a fall
I had an hour or so to spend
And thought I’d make this call

I’d like to fix you up a meal
Perhaps a cup of tea
I know exactly how you feel
And all you’ve done for me

Remember when I almost died?
It seems like yesterday
All night to God for me you cried
Whilst kneeling there to pray

How come you too are sick my friend?
I know you serve your God
You said on Him you could depend
I think it rather odd”

“You think, you’ve come here on your own!
You thought to bring me cheer
But though this child is flesh and bone
Twas God who brought you here

The Lord today is calling you!
God wants to set you free
Allow His Spirit, make you new
Just like He did for me

Your deeds dear friend the Lord has seen
Your love for others too
Come now to Christ become His queen
Receive Salvation’s Dew

Oh yes, God sent you here today
He knows how much you care
Remember when you saw me pray?
God’s answered now that prayer”
