God Of Emergency Poem by Cunningham Mbati

God Of Emergency

GOD OF EMERGENCY
Who is your God?
Is he a God of Emergency?
Is he a God in a matter of urgency?
Why do you act insurgency?

We always make Him a God of emergency
Do we even know who He is?
Generations to generations
He is a God of Emergency.

Life is normal when there is no abnormality
But do we forget we are human mortality?
When death takes our loved ones
We run to God for an emergency.

When wind wipes our riches
When diseases bring stitches
And when our status switches
It's time for a God of emergency.

Our lives has no power
From East West North South
We always have broken hearts
Why do we have God as a God of emergency?

O'LORD our GOD, may you give us a cause
Let your mercies be known
Make your people see
You are not a God of Emergency.
