God Bless America Poem by Winston Harding

God Bless America

Rating: 0.5

The hands of evil awakened the sleeping giant
They thought they could destroy the
Manificent symbol of freedom on September 11,2011
And escape the resolve of a people, a nation

Courage in the hearts of citizens
Awakened to the call of action
A nation under attack, respond
Yet a world wonder, how could it be?
How could the United States be attacked from within?

Three thousand souls went when terrorists struck
They thought they could destroy the will of Americans,
Oh no, that will never, never be
America the beautiful will fight back,
And bravely America fought back
God forever bless a nation of resourceful people

Comfort thee now people
You are not alone in your grief
You were not alone in your hour of trial
You will not stand strong alone, others are with you
To fight back, to fight the war of terror,
You lead the world in love, in giving, in courageous deeds
You shall continue to be applauded across the globe

It is no mistake that your National Anthem says;
'O say can you see! ',
It is not a simple lyric that states;
'God bless America, the beautiful land that you love',
It is of boldness that your Constitution holds
Freedom and justice as the strength of your being

You are a blessed and inspiring nation
On an adventurous and glorious path
You are engaging day and night
In your hour of reflection,
In your hour of celebration
I bid you blessing from above
The flag flies freely across the globe
As the eagle soars to higher heights

No one can destroy the will of Americans
God is watching over you
God shall continue to guide you
With the light from above
A new day of opportunity dawn
Your enemy shall never shine over you
God bless America, forever.
