Go Back To Scratch Poem by Mary Jesusa Villegas

Go Back To Scratch

Many new songs

But no inspiration

in it

People grow up

I don't get that a lot

only on

pretty occasions

when you are dumb

you're more open to

life lessons

(if you really want lessons)

And it's easy to fall in love.

Yet the world is running out of

true music

Where we truly belong

Running out of words to write

must we let ourselves fight

with the tears

or not?

No,

We have to go back to scratch

to where we truly belong

Home

where we truly belong.

Home, home.
