Glutton Poem by Tracy Galloway

Glutton

That human spirit revered
Souls of the palterers exalted as cures for confusion
But mired in twisted desires
deeds form dust
Clouding further the seem from fact
While decadent rotting banquets of banter
Feed the mouths of wanted disgust
And fatten the child encased in their minds
Sickness delights
Withering under the weight of their own cancerous chorus
They slither
Bottom feeding but empty bellied
Laughing, nervous in their false longevity
Chided by the least of men
For the lowest with soul
Stands exalted by snakes
And supported by discard
The sand they slither descends through the glass
The drought of their gluttony draws nigh
