Glass Canvas Poem by Alison J Reynolds

Glass Canvas

As he crouches over
A kaleidoscope of butterflies
Burst forth
In crafted metamorphosis

Splinters of glass
Cast jewelled reflections
In the dark shadows
Of night-fall

Where the sun and moon
Are aligned
Creating cosmic cohesion
On the workbench

Labour ceases
When multi-coloured
Mosaics "light up"
In vivid imagery

As his soldering iron
Makes the final framework

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My husband and I designed a leadlite Art-Deco lamp for my birthday. This was a poem I wrote about the creative process.
