You like Pucci.
I like gallucci.
You favor Cardin.
Well, par-DIN me!
You like to buy
What's real and true and high.
Drop a name.
Why?
You think designer.
It is finer?
Blass does not make you the best,
Nor make life last.
You worship Klein.
I'm fond of paline.
Get the picture?
And I don't mean Picasso, Van Gogh,
Da Vinci or Kandinsky.
True to the upper classes,
Your Givenchy glasses
don't help you see.
You are one-fourth thee,
and I am one-hundred percent me.
I really adore this poem Sandi. It is not in a name that counts but what is in the heart. There is nothing wrong with wanting something with a special brand on it as long as it does not cause you to belittle others with less. Nice write.
Thank you Jesus! I agree, because it works out much better for me to not be focused on chasing after a designer-filled life. And if I was doing that, it wouldn't be fair for me to criticize others for not following that path, for whatever reason. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
beautifully penned, this is true on people who likes signature clothing but it's much better to have simpler things in life, to be simple is great.

I agree, Patricia. I had fun buying Jordache (lol) jeans, when his stuff hit the mainstream. But of course that's what watered down his brand, the availability of it to everyone. It wasn't exclusive anymore. But his name was still important for a while longer.
