Give And Take Poem by Md. Ziaul Haque

Give And Take

I came to give,
She to take,
That I was meant to pay,
And she was to receive.

Religious obligation it was,
Even though I was deprived,
Of joy, contentment and so on,
I had to perform the custom thus.

It might appear ironic to some,
Perhaps a bitter truth,
That fate entrapped me in,
A feeling for me so gruesome.

The best part was that,
I tasted freedom as the birds,
Rule everyday,
Across the planet.

Perhaps I was the loser,
By giving,
Perhaps by receiving,
She became the loser!
