Girls Are Like Roses.... - Poem by Seema Chowdhury

God made this beautiful gift
Known as Girls my dear
Who should be dealt with
Lots of affection and care

For they are like roses
That bloom in our lives
To spread love's fragrance
On this earth where we survive

And with their delicate petals
They spread and attract
All happiness in this world
And that is a lovely fact

And they are like butterflies
With whom we love to play
And decorate our homes with
These fancy gifts I say

And I'm really grateful to God
For giving me His special gift
To color my life's lively leaves
And give my heart and soul uplift

And for bestowing His special bliss
And His love of heaven above
In the form of two beautiful daughters
Who are full of care and love

Love You Samia & Sameen! ! !

I am pleased to quote a couple of lines from my Hindi translation of your poem as suggested:

    Girls Are Like Roses

! (Report) Reply

A wonderful poem for daughters expressing your love and care.Daughters are like special gifts filling our life with joy and beauty.Beautifully rhymed it is a lovely piece of poem.
In many societies sons are preferred to daughters.Sons get all attention and care while daughters are neglected. They do not get proper care and education.I have read in newspapers that in some cases daughters are left to die after birth by not feeding them with mothers' milk. When newspapers are filled with such stories, your poem is like a fresh air.Your daughters are really blessed to get a mother like you.
Congratulations for being selected as the Poet of the Day for a well deserving poem. (Report) Reply
