Girl In The Mirror. Poem by Normal Girl Normal World

Girl In The Mirror.

Rating: 0.5

Every day I look in the mirror,
Expecting to like what I see.
Instead I see pain, anger and hate,
A girl that just wants to be loved.

This girl in the mirror,
She can't be me, can she?
No. No way. Not Possible.
She with tears running down her face,
Me with big smile, showing no fear.

Two completely different people.
Yet she wears my clothes,
And copies my movements.
She has to be me, but is she?

I don't recognise this girl anymore.
Such a mess with her make up smudged.
Screaming! She wants to be free,
Wants people to know her story.
Instead she's hidden behind this mask.

Nice piece of work. Yes, with the pains of life; however, we always have to take up the pieces and move on. Thanks for sgharing this poem with us. E.K.L.

You have a grand ability to show your fragility! Keep writing, it's exciting!

Just be who your are...the world could be pleasantly surprised! We have all been that face in the mirror...as life changes, so too, , the face in the mirror. May you come to accept the beauty that is you...be your own kind of beautiful! I am brand new to this forum, yet have been writing all my life. Please feel free to comment on my poetry as I welcome new friends. PEACE
