Gig Poem by Paul Klobusicky

Gig

GIG

Can’t do this gig anymore
It’s getting older by the day
Older than the day is long
Even if I do say

Been at this gig
Much to long
Like a prison sentence
I’ll be out before dawn

Need a change in what I do
In what I say
Need to get this done
Before the next day

Caught between a rock
A hard night rain
Waiting at the dock
Wondering in vain

If I found a gig
I could dig
Life for this kid
Would be big
