Gifts For Jesus Poem by Kathryn King

Gifts For Jesus

It's Christmas time once again.
All the boys and girls just want to sing
About a little babe in Bethlehem
Heaven's portals shout, the gifts they bring.

Once there was an angel up in heaven.
He was once a little fair skinned boy.
The angels were preparing for the Christ child
Gifts so grand he never could enjoy.

Gifts for Jesus, sweet baby Jesus
Gift of love for all He's done.
He gave His life, that we might live
Eternal life over death He won.

All this angel had were his memories.
Times he would play in fields so green.
Of frogs and fishin' in a warm breeze
Throwin' balls and holding butterfly wings.

Now what could he give baby Jesus
That God would be so please to use.
The angel tried to hide from God almighty
But too late now His hand was about to choose.

The angels' gifts were piled all over heaven,
Gold and jewels and boxes of delights.
They were so much better than his angel's
He started crying but wait it was a sight.

God's hand moved closer to the little angel,
To the box he hid beneath his earthly bed.
On earth this box contained the things he cherished
Especially the collar of his doggie Fred.

His hand held up the littlest angel's box.
He said my son will one day love these things.
For He is sent to save man from his sins
The gift is good, let all the angels sing.

This gift became the srar of Bethlehem
That was shown to all the shepherds round about.
That led the wise men to that blessed child
We celebrate, rejoice all over town.

Gift for Jesus, sweet baby Jesus
Gifts of sacrifice, gifts of love.
Knowing Jesus is better than find gold
Knowing Him, there's peace, love and joy
