Gift of Love
By Paul Sebastian

Hungry, I searched for food of love
Impoverished heart, starved lean
I asked mere bread crumbs, not loaf
But bread slice is heavy price, asking

Bruised, wounded, I looked for shelter
In the cold dark night I found no place
Christians, love selves, not ‘thy neighbor'
Shivering I waited for dawn to face

Dawn broke but darkness stayed
Years of hallowed darkness graced
Disillusionment, loneliness raked
All- Merciful God showed His face

In darkness an angel stood with lit candle
Dawn breaks on her sun-shining face
Her love-greetings mount me up on saddle
Making me a hero even before day's race

Clouds cleared, my sky she made blue
Constant eagle-cries urge me to fly high
My life turned inside-out made brand new
The power of love soaring us to heights

Supernatural power bought us together
Love endowed in us in full measure
In God's design and time, loss to gather
Perfectly matched, each other we treasure

Long fervent prayers, waited for His answer
Life was passing us, yet patience paid us
Bringing us together, was answered prayer
Lives to live for His glory, for His faithfulness
