Gift Poem by Viola Grey

Gift

Rating: 3.5

Given hope-
like brightly wrapped
ribbons on boxes
holding unknown
surprises.
Sharing love-
like smiles spreading
from faces of strangers
opening secrets
unshared.
Stealing kisses-
behind walls erected
by battered minds
withdrawn.
Revealing all-
in one simple sentence
love once hidden
becomes openly
surrendered.

Lovely poem. Love is a gift, especially from those who have 'walls erected by battered minds'. Great imagery and sentiment.
