Ghosts Poem by Alejandro Torres

Ghosts

Home is sweet as honey
Oh but the loveliness of ghosts
As I lay on the black sea
Of satin
I feel the ethereal touch
Of silk
Your nimble fingers tips
Tracing my hallowed features
Love is sweet as eternity
More lasting than immortality
Oh but how your feather soft memory
Still haunts me
I am not strong enough
To over come the tide
Lulled by the memory
Of your melodic voice
Drunk on the fragrance
Forever following
With every breath
The smell of burgundy wine
And pride
Rocked on this ocean of despair
By the ghost of a love
The defied
My own misgiving heart
The memory of shields
Of feathers
The memory
Of you
