Getting High Poem by Stephen Wylie

Getting High

Rating: 5.0

Who wants to get high?
For the promise of high
Contains a lie.
For every high
You will sink low,
So down you go;
You reap what you sow.

Sobriety's the native state
Of our flighty minds,
And yet we hate
To stay that way;
Yet trying to escape
Just does not pay.

The path to grace
For the human race
Is to just get used to it.

This is a lovely poem that should be posted up at every drug rehab centre. It really speaks to everyone who look for 'highs' in whatever shape or form.

Words of wisdom! Humans tend to all search for ways to escape the pain of living, yet these measures only temporarily ease us. It is best to accept things how they are.
