Get To Know Me (Saith The Lord) Poem by Luke Easter

It’s a peaceful silent night,
And everyone’s asleep,
Oops, I forgot,
Everyone except me.

Nothing’s on the tube,
Well, nothing I want to see,
No VCR titles,
The same for DVD’s.

Can’t find a radio station,
Without commercials and talk,
It’s the middle of the night,
That’s too late for a walk.

We’ve all been there before,
With seemingly nothing to do,
Isn’t this the time?
God is talking to you?

Blow the dust off your bible,
You walk by it every day,
Remember moving it to the corner?
Because it was in the way.

Wow, it’s so peaceful,
Nothing to disturb,
Yes, this is the moment,
To get lost in the word.

God planned this time,
That’s why you cannot sleep,
He wants to get to know you,
And count you among His sheep.

God is trying to tell you,
Don’t be lost with the goats,
Eternity in the lake of fire,
With unbelievers you will float.

Weeping, whaling and gnashing of teeth,
Vs. unspeakable joy, happiness, & peace,
Believe, I know you’d rather be,
Forever in the kingdom with Me.

However, the choice is one,
You will have to make,
Please don’t let this be,
Your final mistake.

I forgive you my child,
Whatever it is you’ve done,
Instead of going as two,
Lets walk together as one.

That’s why I choose this time,
To awaken you from sleep,
Open and read the bible,
Come to know about Me,

Alas, I cannot make you,
Free will means it’s what you think,
You can lead a horse to water,
But you can’t make it take a drink.
