German-Speak

The final e is uh,
ie is e as in knee,
ei is i as in night,
z is ts,
w is v,
and like the u in hurt, is oe.

Goethe rhymes with hurter,
Nietzsche with beats plus shut (with a silent t) ,
Hesse is like the Besser in Block,
and if you say Weiss like vice,
in Germany you'll rock.

Verbs at the end, possessive case, gender specific articles. Yikes! : -) Fun poem, Douglass. Thanks for sharing
