Geraldine Poem by Adam Thoms

Geraldine

Rating: 4.0

So, you say that this is the end
I can't say that I've ever had a better friend
You take these moments that we've had
And say 'how can you feel sad'

You make my heart feel better
I see myself when I look in your eyes
I can't thank you enough for the way that you've sculpted me
You take my hand and never let me go
Say my name and in my heart I know
That' you'll never leave me

I wish that we'd had more time
In my heart I know it's going by design
I thank God for the one's we've had
This is what it means to me
I close my eyes so I can see

Nothing can take away the memories we've had
How can I feel sad knowing our journeys only halfway over
As I look to the stars my mind is in your arms
I am halfway home, I can feel i'm not alone

You make my heart feel better
I see myself when I look in your eyes
I can't thank you enough for the way that you've sculpted me
You take my hand and never let me go
Say my name and in my heart I know
That' you'll never leave me
My Grandma Geraldine

I gave this an 8 but I would have scored it much better if it had been shorter. There is no need to repeat yourself in a poem unless it is with a rhyming word or there is a phrase that you repeat for a useful purpose. That was not the case here. This poem is too long . GW62
