Genius Poem by Nimmy.K Alilakuzhyil

Genius

Let there be light
In your minds!

When you aspire to edify
Never be the lofty degree
Neither the pupilage of Oxbridge
Nor ogle, mammoth of pay
For true intellect, toil with
Zealous passion, his companion
Endures hostile state;
His opus, crafted by love
Not of duty, bequeaths
For generations to come.

If ever doubt my words
And seek elements of intellect
Unearth Spheare's theatre tutor
Mozart playing the ivories
Edison's relentless spirit of luminosity
Lincoln's vision of liberation
Washington's headship trait
Unguided by conventional yardstick
World's majestic wits live forever.

When you aspire to edify
Learn the art of audacity
To dream in chilling
Coldness of realism;
To hope in despair
And to love against apathy
Never a cerebral activity
Hidden, the clandestine genius.

History evince by itself
Genius not products of education
But merchandise of fervor
No periphery of rules
An institution in himself
Leaving his imprints
Forever in this world.
