What's in a name?
Oh seeker of fame
She calls me friend!
Her latest trend
God I say:
Is this her way?
To my love
I get the nod
Do I want to be?
Her eyes to see
How do I feel?
If I were in her feet
On a one-way street
Does my heart
Exists a la cart
Ready to serve
And hers to curve
When I'm not sure
Or feel immature
Her deeds reflect
My feelings deflect
Her intentions
My tensions
My heart hesitates oh no!
To her new show
But she's a beauty
But so snooty
I can't walk
Away from her sweet-talk
A trap she lays
I can't resist her ways
Or for man to avoid
Life on steroid
Built in my genes
Nature's means
To reinvent life
Out from strife?
I take her as my wife
-Selection! - The bread of knife-
Or perhaps! - A paring knife?
I must be fit
To submit
To her test
And shed my vest
Life is best
On wings of youth
Nature's truth
My station
In celebration

Paul, this is indeed a very entertaining read. I could not stop reading until I could finish the reading all the lines. It is also very intriquing that you choose to write in very short lines and this makes reading really much easier to continue without stop. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
