Gen-Fear Death? Poem by Mill Field

Gen-Fear Death?

Do not fear death, O Friends;
In death is found our immortality;
Many holy books declare it so
Where all awake to pastures, earths and heavens new.

And if perchance, to such doctrine your mind does not subscribe,
Give thought to matter's indestructibility;
How came we to present form evolving down past ages;
What might the unfolding future hold in store for us
By way of shape, or essence, image, hue.
