Garden Song Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Garden Song

Rating: 5.0

(dedicated to Ms. Julia Fischer, a brilliant violinist)

movement
landscape
enchanting
green world

attentive
imaginative
perspective
contemplative

the natural light
language of color
powerful expression
touched and sublimated

she
dance
fruit trees
encircle her

soft wind
white gown
Spring beauty
opens out

O blossoming flowers!
where do you take me
when all our deepest feelings
become united completely?

(inspired by Henri Matisse's Le Jardin de Renoir)

A beautiful tribute Ahmad - - I could hear the violin music in this garden song... a fine piece. 10 from Fay.

I prefer violin music over piano music. So this piece finds more favor with me. Also it helps my being acquainted with Matisse’s style of painting and this particular painting. I really like the latter part of the poem starting with she/dance/fruit trees/ etc. Your description is very picturesque and easy to imagine.
