Garage Sale Dolls Poem by Marilyn Lott

Garage Sale Dolls

You won’t believe what I found
At a garage sale today
They were dolls – I mean so many
It’s hard for me to say

An Indian doll with and outfit
Just like they really were
Oh, she so precious
I wish that you could see her

Then there was a doll
With hair poofy and black
Oh yes, you should go there
I think that I’ll go back

Then I saw a Christmas doll
All decked out in holiday style
I decided to grab a cup of coffee
And stay there for awhile

And then of course the bride doll
You have to have one of them
For a perfect doll collection
Oh, let another garage sale begin

The hats are just so perfect
Perched on the little heads
Braids so neat and tidy
There’s nowhere I would go instead

And the prices were amazing
Some just over a dollar
The next time I see a sale like this
Hey, I’ll give you a holler!

oh.so poetically 'thrift shop.' with nothing poetically 'second-hand' about it.
