Gandhi Versus Godse Poem by Jasbir Chatterjee

Gandhi Versus Godse

Rating: 4.5

Time runs on, relentlessly.
History follows, in synchrony,
Dancing along, keeping pace...

Old wounds heal,
Scars diminish till they are gone...
Old debris is re-shuffled,
New pages and pictures come to light...
Killers appear to be martyrs,
Fathers of nations and Mahatmas appear human, their halo of glory gone...

But time still runs on, relentlessly.
History follows, in synchrony,
Dancing along, keeping pace...

Gandhi I've read about, Godse I do not know. Beautiful and insightful poem. Thanks for sharing Jasbir.
