Future Poem by Elyse Klinger

Future

I took my dog for a walk one day
And noticed some things that made me think
I noticed the leaves that crunched under my shoes
And the neighbor dogs that barked at us
There was trash in the streets yards
That would eventually decompose
After the lives of animals could have been saved
There is oil in oceans, and garbage in rivers
This makes me wonder what happens in the future.
Do we just sit and let this happen?
There aren't enough organizations to prevent this
YOU have to be the one to stop it
YOU have to think of others
Instead of only thinking of yourself
