Futility In Action Poem by Daniel Phillips

Futility In Action

Rating: 4.0

Every useless breath
every pointless sigh
each and all essential
to the naked eye

blank is the expression
black colors the cry
both of these have meaning
to the naked eye

but every soft expression
every seething sigh
hangs in my perception
a short and useless lie

I fail to find the meaning
I fail to take in strength
I pray I will fail, to fail to hope
to futilely fail away.

This is good. Really good. The poem can be read aloud, a rare quality in written verse. The images work, the sounds work. You did ask for reader/critics. This is good, really good.

I like the way your poems go to a direct point, without going to a point at all,
