Function Two Poem by Charles Thomas Carter

Function Two

Mine is Butterfly
to I Am
Yet by my right to chrysalis
over and over-
must expand, must expand
'I still got it...'
Justin Keep it in time

Justin Time am I
creating the perfect system
by imperfecting smooths and roughs
by surfaces' tension
must erase the Lie
too many layers to reach you
too many layers to speech with you
Unwanted Guardians travel with you
close-by their hands of positioning
and possessiveness.

My scream melts and breaks ice,
But rather now I see that I must speak softly
And chisel layers one at a time.

I'm only allowed to fly once in a while
until my wings feel two heavy a cloak.
Chrysalis again,
must condense must condense.

Love us a sign
a red as is as good as any.
