Full Moon Poem by Les Littleford

Full Moon

A full moon hangs above.
Celestial grandeur
augmenting the mystery
of the Gorge at night.

Discrete electric lanterns
light the night walker’s path.
Floodlights enhance the canyon walls.

But the lunar glow
renders them impotent.
Incandescent reflected light
in perfect symbiosis
with primal beauty.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is one of a collection of small poems written whilst Artist in Residence in Launceston, Tasmania. Our brief was to write [largely] about the beautiful Cataract Gorge but also the immediate area.
