Frustrations Of Self Importance Poem by Gedion Onyango

Frustrations Of Self Importance

If there is anything I can do
Is to run out and embrace the sun for you
I will bow my neck in appreciation
And clean your feet with my hairs

If there is anything I can do
Is to run out with my tail wagging
And cover you with a blanket hug
That is warm and sincere

If there is anything I can do
I will jump out with an umbrella
Of hope and clad you in ever lasting protection
From the drizzlings and the heat bite of uncertainties
Hulled at our doorstep
…..and within the actions of hate and dis-hate
If you can just study my heart
I will cloud you against the whirlwind of unhappiness
And tremendous lack of impossibilities

If there is anything I can do
I will listen to your heart beat
And communicate to your soul
In un-congruential partnering
Of all possible adventures in the rain and dark forest
Because if we can just bear
A single thought of what is needed
We will not have to bleed in heart ache
That I hear thudding into my weary being
