Fruit Trees Poem by Jayne Downing

Fruit Trees

Rating: 5.0

I brought all my fruit trees in
And stepped away from you my dear
You were the Summer
But now it’s clear that Autumn’s here.
Spring came and went
Blossoming through the blink of an eye
We were the bloom
But now the Winter will watch as we die
I brought the fruit trees in
Because of how we loved them dear
I’ll nurture them and keep them safe
And we’ll wait for Spring to return next year.
