Fruit Or Something Else Poem by Bill Smith

Fruit Or Something Else

Rating: 0.5

In amongst the Prickly Pears
Where Strawberries fear to tread
Hands of bruised Bananas curl in wait
Oer’ Apples green and red
Nestled close touch to touch
Safe held with kith and kin
Orbs of sweetness tempt the eyes
With green and purple skin
Pock marked waxy orange shell
Thumb pressed to inner reveal
Sweet the juices held within
Where fingers quarter peel
Soft velvet down of peachy bum
A red and yellow show
Tongue gentle touch to hollowed cleft
Teeth bite to nectar flow
Portcullis skin thick cut by knife
Yellow flesh sliced thin to lie
Upon a porcine tasty treat
The heart discarded …dies
