From Rags To Riches Poem by Michael P. Johnson

From Rags To Riches

Choose peace joy or tears and pain
Choose Christ or death and hell
Be wise; walk not this world in vain
Take heed what love would tell

From love divine be hugged and kissed
From caring hands raised high
Who but a fool would God resist?
Who but a fool will die?

Thank God for selfless love revealed
Melting a heart of stone
For wisdom where we learn to yield
And bow to Heaven’s throne

Bow Christ the knee reach for the sun
Embrace The Light above
Caress The Truth where life is won
Hold fast eternal love

Open your doors to Heaven’s smile
Your widows to the soul
Prepare to walk an extra mile
Towards our unseen goal

Step out in faith have hope and trust
Advance through Christ today
Though all behind you turns to dust
Consider Heaven’s Way

Remember Lott’s escaping wife
Remember Jonah’s plight
Remember too our future life
Once death has taken flight

Give Christ your rags your gold and crown
Your heart your soul and pain
Lay all before our Saviour down
If life’s to be your gain
