From Dusk To Death Poem by Anand Brown

From Dusk To Death

Like a ball of fire you drift across with your power
To illuminate all. You protect us from the cold and bitter grip of Night and gently kiss us with purpose.

You are drawn towards the west and leave a trail of memory
Behind while darkness creeps up upon the distant hills.
The moon soon rules the sky signalling all hell to break loose.

The scum of the earth spill onto the streets
In search of innocent souls. Child, meek and unaware of your ugly Fate, you take on the night!

At one, pounded upon! Overpowered, by cowards who use the night as Cover! You see your sun set.
Robbed, raped and mutilated, the result of your courage.

At first light, your blood decorates
The streets, while the
dogs
Chew your flesh.
