What I perceived to be happiness
Turned out to be a den of darkness,
For you transformed to who you were-
A beast so full of hate and anger.
Each day was anguished, full of torment.
Pretense, abuse, pain, sorrow sent.
And all that I am was crushed inside
Until the Truth woke me up, it did not hide.
So I rose to redeem what I used to be
Stood my ground, walked away scarred but free,
My heart was so broken but I took my release
It was then that God found me and gave me peace.
You are no loss for me and in this I rejoice:
New doors have opened wide as I found my own voice.
The Light is shining brightly and I'm in it everyday
From darkness to light, with Hope I go on today!
