From By Gone Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

From By Gone

Again and often
We have proven record
Of being not sincere to words
Which were meant to move forward?

We had pledged under an oath
That till death
We shall remain loyal
To the country and its people

We have proved wrong
Not only to self bit opted for song
That was alright but not for adoption
It was only for other’s consumption

We put hand on sacred books
Solemnly bears for truth and undertake
That we shall speak and adhere to truth
But change the self with next moment of breathing

The world shall move on
With no lesson from by gone
We shall remain same
But refuse to name where we have lacked
