Frigidity Poem by Stuart Doggett

Frigidity

Absolve my sins
I have done no wrong.
I have not lived life,
To hell I belong.

Burn my body,
Burn my soul,
Release the laughter,
Expel the cold.

Grey skies above me
Mirror the grey within.
Snow settles around me,
Cold drives me in.

Burn my body,
Burn my soul,
Warm me from the inside,
Help endure the cold.

Trapped in my ice prison,
Safe from friend or foe.
Longing for springs embrace
And blessed relief from snow.

Burn my body,
Burn my soul,
Save me from madness,
Break winters hold.

When can I start living?
Fingers numb and slow,
Eventually the cell door creaks,
And I will be free to go.

Discard my body,
Absorb my soul,
All now laugh with me,
Safe from the cold.

All now laugh with me,
Safe from the cold.
