Friendship Holiday Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Friendship Holiday

O come ye down from Bonnie Scotland
Leave the Borders for awhile.
We will sing about Loch Lomond
And Bonnie Mary of Argyle...because
Scotland has taken her rightful place
In the 'United Kingdom', blending with
Northern Ireland, England and Wales,
Togetherness encouraging Freedom.
So please come ye down to England.
Bring photographs of your many islands
And the beautiful mountain scenery.
For your love is like a red red rose
That shineth brightly amid the greenery.
