Friendship Poem by Mozafar Ali

Friendship

Growing up together they were the good days,
No stress, no pain, no hate,
Only smiles, jolly friends we were,
No ache of the future leaving it all to fate.

We spent time in and after school,
Begged our parents to spend more time at our homes,
We were brothers in arms. Together,
An unbreakable master lock.

Time gave chase as from children we became young men,
School failed us so the streets we claimed.
We introduced ourselves to the game,
The perfect match for such a crime.

We went through the highs and lows,
Helped each other make it through the hard times,
Day by day we became nothing but stronger.
Like I said we were brother in arms.

Which makes me wonder to this present day,
After all our happiness and strong past
As I turn to look back and think,
Why you stuck this steal knife in my back.
