Friendship Poem by Christina Simmons

Friendship

There're thoughts of annoyance
encircling the mind clouding
sight stopping the vision.

In need of nurturing
receiving tender care
from a friend who understand
the meaning of friendship trust and reassured.

Someone to talk too - who will listen
without remaining superficial - who could pick me up
when falling only to stand up again -
Getting a call from anyone would make a difference

Possibly I need more than that?
A person whom to be sure of: A friend without hidden blemishes
A being coming from a place of pure sincerity.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Wishing and wanting a friend to trust and confide in, someone to rely on; there's no such person. We all have to be that person to ourselves. Unfortunately some of us have to experience many hardship before we learn to trust the self.
