Friends Or Foe Poem by Aprajita Rana

When I was swimming in a lake
I met a dragon on my way
He looked ferocious but he was sweet
We became friends and he gave me treats

We flew together now and then
I thought he was my best friend
I said no for meeting my old friends
He told me it was out of trend

Once we flew to his house
I met his family and his spouse
Soon when it started to rain
They tied me in chains

Now I knew that
They wanted me as dinner
I couldn’t believe my eyes
My hopes grew dimmer

Then I saw my friends
Coming to me
I really wanted
To run free

My friends fought for me
I said sorry
For the mistake
I’ve been doing

After this I learned
A fact that
Friendship is
Sometimes just an act

Real friends are those
Who are with you
Showing true friendship
In the harder times too
