Friends Poem by Dillian Hansen

Friends

The warmth that you give,
guides me through each day.
And only when you're near,
Do I not look far away.

Need not look up close,
instead listen to what I say.
My friends color the world,
for originally it's just grey.

Life had felt a chore
but that feeling did not stay.
For the first friend I ever had
would teach me how to play.

Soon I'd be discovered,
as a fat nerd cliche.
Guided by my second friend,
I became the hunter not the prey.

Friends would soon pour in,
acceptance experienced delay.
refusing those of whom, that
would purposely lead astray.

Through~friendship,
you can find the gateway.
but only with heart can
it be your mainstay.
