Friends Poem by michael metcalf

Friends

Rating: 4.5

friends, they lift you up they drag you down
andeven make your world go round
a pair of people who wouldn't let you hit the ground
but what do you do when there numbers go down
from best friends to worst friends and far in between
some are nice and some are mean
friends will blowout the candles on your birthday cake
and be the first to call you in the morning when they wake
with all your friends from start to end
as time goes on the road will bend
when you start with plenty and end with few
you'll start to wonder if it was because of you
though you'll make more in good time
just sit and think and remember this rhyme
hearts of many and hugs of hope down the hall
a friend is a friend no matter how small
